Bestie Bag | Confident Beginner

This workshop is a great starting point if you are interested in diving into bag making. 

During this hands-on class students will sew the:

Bestie Bag from Blackbird Patterns 

You will recieve a paper copy of the pattern. 

Date: Saturday, November 14th 

Time:  11:00-2:00pm

Location: Class will be located at Pirillo Textiles.
(3800 Merle Hay Rd Suite 912, Des Moines, IA- inside of Merle Hay Mall. Use entrance near Flix Brewhouse)

We have sewing machines available to rent for this class. If you have your own machine, you are encouraged to bring it to class. 

You will learn how to:

• Read a sewing pattern.
• Sew a lining
• Insert a zipper
• Attach straps

Materials Required:

• 1 yard(60" wide) medium to heavyweight woven fabric 
• 1 yard lining fabric
• 1.5 yards webbing (strap) optional, if not making fabric strap
• Coordinating thread.
• 9" or 12" zipper
  

Fabric and notions (unless stated) are not included in the cost of the workshop.

If you need help picking out fabrics, you can visit Pirillo Textiles ahead of the class and get fabric recommendations from Adam. If ordering online, it is recommended to order fabric two weeks before class.

Your paper pattern needs to be picked up and cut before the first class. 

Your fabric should also be cut before class to maximize your time. 

Cancellations must occur at least TWO WEEKS before the class for a refund to be given.
